Who I am and how everything started
Hi there! My name is Eva and I'm a happy illustrator currently based in a small village of northeast Spain, although I was born further south in a sunny city called Málaga.
Since I was very little I always loved drawing and filling sketchbooks with watercolour, pencil and marker doodles. As a teen I started to seriously learn and improve my techniques by copying and imitating my favourite artists (many of them were japanese manga artists), but soon felt the urge to create original illustrations, and to bring to real life all those characters and sceneries that I had inside my head!
The power of communication that an illustration can achieve is something that fascinates me; I'm a very visual person and I believe I can instill more with the images I create, than with my own words. That's why I always had so clear that I wanted to dedicate my life to produce visual goods, and from all the possibilities I chose illustration.
How did Viva Stationery started?
The story of my shop started in August 2016, when I was living and working as a freelance in the UK. I had been playing with the idea of creating my own stickers for some time, but I still hadn't a clear conception about how to project that idea. Then I discovered the world of planning and the planner community, and instantly fell in love with all the creativity and possibilites it could give me to create cute and useful stickers. So I finally decided to open a small Etsy shop called Viva Stationery, where I started selling a few hand drawn stickers with my original illustrations. The response from the planner community greatly surprised me! Never imagined the shop would grow so much that it would be moving out of Etsy with its own domain and everything!
Viva S. is my greatest personal project, where I put all my care and attention so you can enjoy it too. When I design my products I think of the motifs and colours that inspire me the most, that make me feel good, and that I'd love to find for myself and for people who, just like me, want to keep their everyday life as organised, productive and inspiring as possible without neglecting those little details that stand out and make life nicer. I wish you can get inspired and feel identified in some way with my characters, and I hope they can help you create you own life story in your planner or journal!
Running Viva Stationery is an amazing dream come true. I hope Vera and her friends can help you reach your goals and dreams too!
